The earlier 28 October site research capture recorded RATING 1200. Nisu’s 27 October notes independently record 1200 as one observed state, not a universal starting value. The public interface file re-read on 28 October describes Rated as matching near your rating and Quick Play as unrated. It says browser rating can be kept across devices through sign-in. This review did not test a match, account linking or transfer between devices.
The five fish are avatars
The character file defines MASCOT_CHARACTERS with the unlockStreak values below. All thresholds are single-source from Krillion, checked on 28 October 2026. The interface labels these as streak unlocks; they are not rating divisions. No account unlock was tested.
The lobby compares these thresholds with loadStats().maxStreak, a saved play statistic. The interface says day streak; the inspected files do not support describing the requirement as simply logging in on consecutive days.

Daily Dive bands are a different score
Daily Dive uses a depth score. Its fish labels and daily results should not be converted into Puffer Party rating bands. The official privacy page describes a friends leaderboard for daily scores; that is a separate feature from a public Puffer Party ladder.
No published formula
No rating formula, season-reset rule or division cutoff was established in the official public pages and files checked. A previously cited Reddit rating-display discussion could not be re-read during this review. It does not support a confirmed cache diagnosis, a guaranteed fix or a fixed gain per win.
About those 1400 and 1550 claims
Faced a cheater reports around 1400; Was fun while it lasted reports 1550. Each number is a single-source player self-report, not a verified result or ladder position. The latter post discusses cheating, not an official shutdown. Dated status notes are on updates; invitations are on rooms.
