Puffer Party room codes

To play with friends, host a private room and share its current invitation. The steps below follow Nisu’s dated room inspection; this review did not create or join a room.

The earlier site research capture dated 28 October 2026 recorded a public-room list and JOIN controls. That is a dated observation, not the current room inventory. This guide does not republish players’ names or active invitations.

Host, join, quick play

The public lobby interface includes a name field, character choices, matchmaking and host/join controls. Quick Play is labeled unrated. Nisu’s lobby notes separately describe Rated and Quick Play. To join a particular friend, use that room’s invitation or code.

Invite a friend

  1. Open the official lobby and enter a display name.
  2. Before selecting Host a Room, choose Private · Code Only. After hosting, confirm the room badge still says Private. These steps follow Nisu’s private-room inspection.
  3. Share the room’s current four-letter code or full invitation link.
  4. Your friend opens that invitation, or enters the code under Join by Code and presses Join. Confirm that everyone sees the same room code and appears in its Players panel.
  5. Check the ready count and room settings together before using Wake the Puffer.

If a code fails, check its spelling and ask the host whether the room is still open and has a seat. These are general checks, not a guarantee that an old invitation remains valid.

The alphabet

The public settings file sets ROOM_CODE_LENGTH to 4, also observed by Nisu. The exact alphabet, ABCDEFGHJKLMNPQRSTUVWXYZ, and PUBLIC_ROOM_PAGE_SIZE of 50 are single-source client constants. I and O are absent from that alphabet. A page size is not a count of all active rooms or a promise about how many will appear.

Private rooms, from a second write-up

Nisu’s 20 October room notes, updated 27 October record lives 2, min turn 8s, seats 6, heart cap 5 and 600 points per heart. These agree with the official client defaults but do not establish every room’s settings or tested limits. Nisu observed Wake the Puffer disabled with one player; this is a single-source observation of that state. The client’s minimum of 2 players is a single-source constant; the one-player observation does not verify that lower bound. Neither source establishes every condition that can disable the button.

What a code is not

We have not established how long room codes stay valid. Use the host’s current invitation; this site does not keep a code directory. If JOIN fails, the room may have filled or closed. The checks on not working cover a page that will not load at all. Phone layout problems are on phone.

FAQ

How long is a room code?

The client sets ROOM_CODE_LENGTH to 4, matching Nisu’s room observation. Its exact alphabet, ABCDEFGHJKLMNPQRSTUVWXYZ without I or O, is single-source from Krillion.

Can I hide a room?

Nisu’s multiplayer guide describes choosing Private · Code Only before hosting, then sharing a /party/CODE invitation. That workflow is a dated guide observation; this review did not click the toggle or verify every privacy behavior.

Sources and verification

Public references checked 2026-10-28. Different pages from the same publisher count as one source. A source’s report is not a guarantee of current game behavior.
